The Hunt Is On!

Today is Easter! I have to say that Finn had a much better time this year than last year. Finn and I got up at 7:30 and started cooking for Easter dinner at Gran and Pa's house. Before we left for the day we took a few pictures of Finn all dressed up in his Easter outfit. He had three wardrobe changes throughout the day.


Next we went to church with Gran and Pa. Finn was great all the way through the singing. However, during the prayer requests Finn hollered "poo-poo" twice, which was a little embarrassing. As expected I had to take Finn out during the service.

When we got home Finn opened his Easter basket. He got two sets of learning flashcards (real fun Mom and Dad), some Thomas the Train cards and some Teddy Grahams.




After opening his Easter basket, Finn took a nap. 20 minutes into the nap we had to get Finn out of bed and get to our safe spot. We had terrible storms come through. Finn was so upset to be locked in the bathroom with Mama. Dad stayed in the den and watched the weather broadcast. Finn was very upset that his Dad was not in the room with us. Every time it thundered Finn would say "thunder" and this his most panicked voice cry for daddy and beat on the door. Thankfully, everyone was fine.
After the storms passed we went to Gran and Pa's house for Dinner. First Finn opened his Easter basket from Gran. He was a little shy at first because there were a few people there that he didn't know. All he wanted to do was hide his face into me and Michael. Finn's Easter basket was great. He got some trucks, socks, shoes, sandals, Thomas jammies, an outfit, a sticker book and a stuffed sheep.

Then we had dinner. Finn ate mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. After dinner Finn hunted eggs. This was my favorite part. After we helped him find the first egg, he was off.

He found the rest of them with no trouble at all. The best part was when Finn spotted some eggs way out in the yard and took off like he was shot out of a canon. He looked so cute running as fast as he could carrying that basket along side.



It was about this time that it started to rain again. Finn was almost finished so we braved the rain and continued to hunt.
When we got back inside Finn went through his stash. Most of the eggs either had marshmallows or Nutter Butters in them. But the golden eggs were full of cars!







By the end of the day Finn and Daddy were exhausted.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
