How Will Cooks a Turkey

Image
And there you have it! Perfect every time. Will made this for me in his K3 class at Gallatin Church of Christ Daycare in Mrs. Amy's Class. These are a few pictures of the boys putting ornaments on the tree.  Nothing funny or entertaining this year.  However, I did read the boys the posts from years past.  They were rolling on the floor laughing at their lunacy. The time that we went to see Frozen II with Gran and Sharon, Henry, Mason and Aria.

Will’s Bleeding Heart

Image
Being the youngest of three brothers, Will often has unexplained bumps, bruises and in this case scratches.  One day last week, Will crawled in bed with me and told me that his heart was bleeding. He was very torn up about his "bleeding heart."  He then proceeds to show me the source of his distress. It's terrible, isn't it?  Lately, Will has taken to working puzzles.  He is pretty good at them too. In this picture Will is wearing a Star War's t-shirt.  Will has become very picky about his attire, opting to wear only his Thanos shirt or is "Man of Dalorian"  shirt.  Since Will's only Star Wars reference is the Disney Plus show "the Mandalorian", he calls his Stars Wars shirt his "Man of Dalorian" shirt.  If I weren't so frustrated with his very limited wardrobe selection, I would find it to be precious. And last, Will is beginning to let his opinion on topics of the day be known.  Last week as we were driving ho

Seussical the Musical

Image
For their Spring musical, the DA upper school performed Seussical the Musical.  I as shocked and very excited when Finn asked if we could go.  We decided to make a special day of it and had a Finn and Mom day.  We went about an hour early so that we could play at the Circus McGurkus. Mostly Finn and I challenged each other to Ring Toss and Penguin Tossing.   While the games were really simple, I had so much fun playing against Finn.  Based on how many times he wanted to play, I think that he had a really good time too. A few minutes before the show was scheduled to start Finn and I found our seats.  The show was somewhat interactive, so they handed out little bags full of goodies that we could use during he show.  Our last challenge of the day was to eat a Circus Peanut.  We both failed, but made sure to save some for Will and Sam. (Will didn't like his either - but Sam enjoyed it very much). We had a really good time together.  While Finn may never want to actually b

Davidson Academy 4th Grade Tennessee Play

Image
Every year the Fourth Grade class at Davidson Academy performs the Tennessee Play.  This is a play that showcases some of Tennessee's most famous citizens dating back to Andrew Jackson.  Finn was cast in the role of Alvin C. York - which is quite fitting if I do say so myself.  The teachers and children have worked so hard to get ready for the performance.  They have been practicing for at least the past three months.  Finn has taken his role very seriously, working hard to get his pace, tone and character just right - and it shows.  He was excellent.  There were two performances of the play.  The first performance was during the school day on Thursday, March 6th at 9:15.  Michael and Gran went to see this performance.  The entire elementary school attended this performance.  The second performance was at 6:30.  Grandad, Gigi, Nana, Papa, Sam and I attended this performance.   I have to say, my face hurt from smiling so much during this play - I loved it!  These kid

Thanksgiving 2019

Image
I have really neglected my blog.  In an attempt to catch up I am just posting a few pictures with a few captions. We spent day before Thanksgiving at Grandad and Gigi's this year.  We ate soup and played Shanghai Rummy. On Thanksgiving Day we went to Nana and Papa's house where we played Volleyball and intructed the boys on how to play card games.  Specifically Spoons, Slap-Jack, and Speed. My bruise from volleying.
