The "Finnster, et al."

On Good Friday Nana came to spend the afternoon with the boys.  She brought their Easter basket and ingredients to make grilled cheese sandwiches and Easter bark.  While Nana was waiting for the cheese to melt on the sandwiches, she and Finn made the bark using M & M's, Oreo's and white chocolate. Finn helped to crunch up the Oreo's.  Once the sandwiches were ready, we all sat on the couch and watched "Frozen."  Nana hadn't seen Frozen yet, and Finn and Sam both wanted to watch it with her.  Sam sat in Nana's lap the entire time. Later than evening we had a birthday party for Michael and Uncle James. We had a cookout in the backyard.  The whole family was in the party, plus a few friends.

Thursday was a very fun and busy day for the family.  Thursday morning the boys had an Easter Party at their school.  Gran, Pa and Michael went to help hide eggs. After their naps, we met Gran, Pa, Michael and Sharon at the Zoo to see the Dinosaurs.   This is how Sam went through the Dinosaur portion - he was scared to death. I think the noise scared him more than anything.  Watching the monkeys.  They were really putting on a show. Sam's favorite part of the Zoo.  They called this the "sewer." 

Two weeks ago, we stopped putting Finn in overnight pull-ups.  Instead we put him in underwear and told him that if he didn't wet the bed for a whole week we would get him a surprise.  Well six days went by without incident.  However, on the seventh day, Finn wet the bed.  I was heart-broken for him. We made the same promise to him the next week and he took on the challenge.  I am proud to report that Finn went the entire week without one accident. For his reward, Finn picked out a "Rabbids Invasion" stuffed Rabbid - oh joy.  He was so excited about his Rabbid - took it to school with him today. This evening Finn and Michael went to Home Depot to change out the propane tank. Finn came home with a huge "Iron Man" figurine.  I was somewhat irritated with Michael for buying Finn another toy until I learned that a clerk at Home Depot gave the toy to Finn.  I guess another child had left the toy a while back at the store and never came ba...

 On Monday Gran picked the boys up from school and took them to "Pigtails and Crew Cuts" for hair cuts.  Sam is still having a hard time getting used to haircuts - so Gran took them somewhere fun in an attempt to get him acclimated.  It worked - Sam didn't shed a tear.

Today at about 12:30 p.m. I found myself at Finn and Sam's school.  Yesterday, Sam came home with another poor behavior report. The teachers have tried every disciplinary technique with Sam to no avail (related to naptime). Today, when I dropped the boys off, I told them that I would be around the area at approximately 12:30 in case Sam was pitching a fit.  At 12:15, I got a text from Sam's teacher, asking for assistance. When I went into the school, most of the children were lying on their cots trying to nap.  I found Sam, lying on cot, in the office, by himself.  He had his feet in the air and he was attempt to talk to the boys and girls in the other. He wasn't crying or throwing a fit - he simply would not be quiet during the nap time.  They had to move Sam out of his own classroom because he was such a disturbance to his classmates. For the past several months, I have served on "The Committee to Re-Elect Judge Barry Brown."  Judge Brown is the Juvenile Court Judge in Sumner County, Tennessee, and is a wonderful Judge.  It is very important to me that Judge Brown be reelected, so when I learned that we were going to the park to watch Addison play baseball, I turned my children into walking billboards. Both children were very excited about the prospect of going to the game, but when we got there the only thing they were interested in was the concession stand. They had popcorn, icecream, Skittles, and suckers. After the game, we all went to Firehouse for lunch.  Sam ate three (3) pickles.   Once home, Finn and I took a long nap together.  I think that I slept about 2 hours it was heavenly! Later than evening Finn, Sam, Michael, Gran and Sandy went for a walk on the walking track.  Finn took his bicycle and Sam rode in the wagon. 

Friday was Grandparent's Day at HCA.  The kids have worked for weeks to prepare songs and bible verses for the big day.  Finn was excited to see us. Present to see Sam and Finn were, Mom, Greg, Dad, Deniece, Me and Michael. First they said the "Pledge of Allegiance" and sang, "My Country Tis of Thee."  Finn was chosen to be the flag bearer. He did such a good job - all except for the fact that he had his left hand over his armpit. This was my favorite part of the whole program - Finn was so precious. Next they said a Bible verse and sang "If I were a Butterfly." Then they brought Sam' class out.  There are two little boys in the 2 Year Old class; Sam and Caleb. Sam's class sang two songs:  1) The Alphabet Song; and 2) Be Careful Little Eyes.  Sam didn't sing a word of either.  In fact, as the songs progressed Sam grew more and more introverted.
