Will is a Buc! Finn and Sam remain Bears.
Will started Kindergarten this year! We had not intended for him to be a Kindergartener this school year, but after moving to our new home - which is a stones throw from Beech Elementary School- we decided to enroll Will in school. The plan is for Will to attend Kindergarten again at Davidson Academy next year. This year he was supposed to be in K4 at DA. But he also qualified (based on his age) to begin Kindergarten in the Sumner County public school system. We decided to save our money and send him to "K4" at Beech.
He was a little confused at first, but generally liked the idea of being a "Buc." Will's teacher is Mrs. Garrett. She is a wonderful Kindergarten teacher and comes highly recommended by our other teacher friends. Will also was able to start his Kindergarten year with his cousin Cade, his neighbor Helen, and his best friend from K3 at Davidson Academy Jack. Jack's mom teaches at DA so I was really surprised when Will announced from the backseat of the van "that Jack is Buc now." I was so happy for Will.
He adjusted really quickly to his new school. But I'm not surprised. As our third child, poor Will has been pulled here and there and had to adjust to our life. He is easily our more well-adjusted kid. I have had to talk him out of wearing his Bear Wear to Beech.
First Day of Kindergarten (Take 1) Pictures.
His backpack this year his a "Minecraft" backpack. He loves this backpack! Will is very concerned about looking cool. The biggest fights we have are over his clothes. He only likes to wear "cool" t-shirts and sports shorts. We have a deal - he can pick out whatever he wants to wear on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I pick the other days.
So these pictures are of Finn and Sam's first day of Sixth and Fourth Grade. I can't tell you who Finn's homeroom teacher is, but Sam's teacher is Ms. Lamb.
So Will started his first day on a Tuesday. Finn and Sam's first day was on Thursday. Will didn't go back for his second day until Friday. Between COVID protocol, acclimating Kindergarteners, and Sam being quarantined for ten (10) days after his first day of school, we didn't have all three (3) boys in school at the say time until the fourth week of school. It was a great start.
