The "Finnster, et al."

On Thursday of this week the NCAA tournement started which means Michael has been home with us for two whole days.  The boys did go to JT's on Thursday while I was at work.  When I picked them up that afternoon it was pouring the rain.  I grabbed the boys and made a dash for the car.  When Finn realized how hard it was raining he completely lost him mind and started bawling.  I felt so bad for him but I couldn't stop because Sam was getting drenched as well.  Sam looked like he was about to cry but ended up holding it together. By the time we all got in the car, Finn and I were soaked to the bone.  Finn cried most of the way home and begged me to turn the heat on.  The heat was on and up as high as it could go.  I couldn't help but laugh at him.  When we got home I showered and then we went to Brandon and Carissa's house to watch some of the tournament.  Finn chased Addison around the house a few times befor...

Today (Tuesday) Sam met his Pa.  Pa came home to have his shoulder looked at by a surgeon at Vanderbilt.  Bad for Pa, but great for Sam!  We went over to Gran and Pa's house for dinner.  Pa brought Finn a Mr. Potato Head and some hot rod cars. Earlier today Finn came home from Grandad and Gigi's.  I was so excited to see him.  He came in eating jelly beans.  He decided that he didn't like the black ones - and who can blame him.  Shortly after he got home we went to get Sam.  On the way he asked me for a donut - so I found a place and bought him some donuts.  Its a good thing he didn't ask for a toilet made of solid gold :)  He had chocolate donut all over his face and hands.  It's good to have my messy little stinker home.

  On Monday I went for my six week post partum checkup; all is well.  Sam went with me.  After the appointment was over we went home and I did home projects the rest of the day.  After dinner we snuggled up on the couch and watched the Season Finale of the Bachelor.

Friday was a home day for me and the boys.  We spent the better part of the morning doing our weekly grocery shopping and then we spent the better part of the afternoon in the playroom.  While Finn was playing in the playroom I put Sam in the nap nanny.  Finn left the room for a few minutes and then reappeared holding his blankets - his "little" blanket, his "soft" blanket his "blanket" blanket and his "frog" blanket. Clearly Finn does not have a strange attachment to blankets.  Anyway, he started covering up Sam one by one while explaining to Sam which blanket is which.  Finally Finn grabbed his "little" blanket (which is his favorite) and shoved the corner in Sam's mouth (Finn used to suck on it when he was a baby).  Did I mention that Finn brought in his turtle as well.  Finn took great care to see that Sam had a "proper" nap.  Such a sweet big brother. Today we took Sam for his two month check up.  He now weighs 13 pounds, 9 ounce and is 23 inches long. This means that our three to six month clothing officially fits.  At Finn's 2 month appointment - Finn weighed 13 lbs, 3 oz and that he was 23 inches tall. He has definitely "chunked" up! Dr. Thompson told us that Sam is big enough that he should not be waking up twice in the night to eat.  She gave us some tips for weaning him down to getting up only once.  She said that it was too early to let him "cry it out" but told us to try everything to get him to go back to sleep except feeding him (great - that is going to be so fun).  She did say that we could give him a bottle of water (a suggestion from Gran) and that might help soothe him back to sleep.  I was all ready to use that approach last night.  I had already planned for Michael to get up and give him the water bottle on the second feeding and you would know that the little stinke...
