The "Finnster, et al."

On Saturday we made our way to down to visit Nana and Papa.  Finn talked non-stop all the way there.  He told me how much he loved the Memphis Grizzleys and then he named is All-Star team - LeBron, Steph Curry, Westbrook, Andrew Wiggins and Vince Carter. Then he asked me multiple questions about which team could beat the other.  By the time we got to "Joe B. Jackson" I was exhausted from making up fake reasons why one team could beat the other so I turned to "Youtube" let the boys watch a video that includes two of their favorite things: 1) Hamilton and 2) John Cena. You just have to listen.  When we made it to Papa and Nana's house the boys went to pool. And took turns trying to stay on Papa the Bull for 8 seconds.  Will got in the water too - and not surprisingly, he hated it.  Doesn't he look silly here . . .  . . . and here.  He also tried the Bumbo and Nana's swing.  Sam quickly fou...

At 8:45 on Saturday morning, Nana quietly came upstairs to check on me and Will.  She found us sound asleep snuggled up on the air-mattress.  Finn came upstairs too and held Will for the first time. His expression was so cute - he had the biggest smile on his face. After sitting around for a few minutes I took a shower and got ready for Emily and her family to come over for lunch. They got to our house at around noon.  Emily brought chicken salad sandwiches for lunch - they were so good.  The best part of the visit was seeing Hank with Will.  Hank loves babies!  The look on his face was so sweet when he was holding Will.  Michael, Zac and the boys spent a lot of time playing outside, while the girls sat inside with the baby. Around 3:00 I noticed that Will still didn't have wet diaper.  I had noticed the night before and decided to keep an eye on it.  I felt pretty sure he wasn't getting enough to eat so...

On Friday, September 16, I have a big trial.  It it one of my last cases that has carried over from my practice. Trials like this take a lot of preparation and a lot of time - time that Will will not give me. So we improvise.  Will lays right next to me while I work in bed. When he fusses I  hold him for a few minutes and after he calms down I put him down and pick the laptop back up.  It is a bit tedious - but it works. Since I had to work Friday night Michael rented "Angry Birds" the movie for the boys and we ate pizza.  After dinner, Will and I went back downstairs to work a little more before bed. While we haven't much progress in the sleep department, Will will at least let me swaddle him now.

On Thursday, I had to work at home almost the entire night.  Finn and Sam decided that they would make me dinner. They came in, toque blanche and all, holding a box of meatballs (made of aluminum foil).  Finn told me that the name of his restaurant was Ben's Workshop. They were so sweet. I truly hope that Sam's toque was clean . . .  I couldn't resist posting pictures of my adult coloring book pictures.  I love these things!

 . . . Contrary to what I told my 6th Sunday School Class last year.  Yes, I told them their pets would not go to Heaven.  But that is a story for another day. Well, on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, Fannie Mae was gently nudged by a lovely Veterinarian along on her journey to meet the boatman. If we were ancient Greeks the former statement would be more accurate, but since we aren't, I should probably just say what I mean. We have had some issues with Fannie for past seven (7) years - as I have mentioned a couple of times.  But, I can't deny how much I loved Fannie.  She was my cat for sixteen and half (16.5) years.  Most of her problems started when she was forced to share her home and my attention with Finn.  She never recovered from the betrayal of it all. For past six (6) months, things have gotten worse.  She stopped using her litter box altogether and she couldn't keep anything in her stomach.  After much (much) discussion, Michae...

Friday was a big day for us.  After picking the boys up from school I took them back up to my office to watch the Gallatin High School homecoming parade. I think that they enjoyed running up and down the square than they did watching the parade. We watched with Lori and her Rhett.  Lori is the paralegal in the office. As all parades, this parade started with the police.  Sam immediately goes into beast mode and start using his hands as a gun.  Then he started making shooting noises.  He turns to the lady next to him, which we don't know, and said, "I shoot at police."  Not knowing what to say, I said, "We practice a very liberal ideology in our home." After the parade we went home and made cookies then went to the drive-in to with Dustin and Elena and their kids.  We watched "Finding Dory" which was good and "Pete's Dragon" which was horrible.
