Sam Second Birthday Party.

On Saturday we celebrated Sam's second birthday.  Yes, Sam was born on January 14th - so technically the party was only two (2) weeks late.  It must be tough be a second child.  Of course, I wouldn't know. (Sam, if you are reading this, I am only kidding - sort of).

We had planned to have the party at Hippity Hop, but it was closed to the general public.  At the eleventh hour we moved the party to the backyard/kitchen.  We had a small, family party. In attendance were Emily, Zac, Cooper, Hank, Nana, Papa, Grandad, Gigi, Gran, Mimi and Aunt Chelsea.

I love this picture of Sam.  He seemed to have a good time playing outside.

Busted! Caught eating directly out of the serving dish.

Next we ate lunch.  We had a party tray from Chik-Fil-A, potatoes, corn dip, fruit, cupcakes, cake and homemade ice-cream.  Sam mostly ate fruit.

The boys ate lunch in the den and watched "Ninja Turtles."

Sam wasn't crazy about the candles, so Finn ended up blowing them out.  For those of you that ate the white "Incredibles" cake - I feel certain that you consumed a fair amount of spit.

Next we opened presents - the first present was a microphone from Nana and Papa.  We can load Sam's favorite songs on it so he had sing along.

Sam loved all of his presents . . . In fact, he loved them so much that he refused to open them all.  Seriously, he absolutely refused to open one of his presents from me and Michael.

Next, Sam opened his Minion from Grandad and Gigi.  This was a big hit with all the kids.

Finn "helped" Sam open his presents.  Sam was very appreciative.

Uncle Zac got stuck with "assembly duty."

Sam with his frog from Aunt Chelsea.  We may have captured the only second of Sam holding this frog.  For some reason, he wanted nothing to do with it.  He had a change of heart at bedtime.

Sam with Meca-Godzilla and his "Incredibles" figurines.

After the party, the boys took long naps while we cleaned up.  After their nap they watched "Despicable Me."  It was a really nice, relaxing night with the boys.

Sam, Happy Birthday - we love you big guy.
