Panama City Beach 2018
On July 7th we packed up the van made the long trip to Panama City. We packed plenty of books, movies, and toys to keep Will occupied for the eight (8) hour trip. Ten (10) minutes in Will was bored and begging for toys. Michael required that we wait until an hour before we turned on a movie, so I handed Will a superhero action figure. Seeing Will's action figure, Sam pulls out an action figure of his own. Seeing Sam's action figure, Will loses his mind and starts screaming "MY TURN." This lasted until Sam broke down and handed Will the toy. Then Sam proceeds to get another toy. Will, seeing Sam's new toy screams "MY TURN." This went on all day. The phrase "my turn" was the theme of the day. It was lovely.
About three hours into our trip we hit a pretty big traffic jam. Since we were moving at approximately 5 MPH, I decided to hop in the back with the boys. It was terribly uncomfortable.
Earlier in the week we decided that we would meet Emily's family at a Chik-Fil-A. We thought it might be fun to let the boys play on the playground for a while before getting back in the car for the last half of the ride. After our long traffic jam were ready to get out to eat. Unfortunately, Emily called us and let us know that we planned to meet at the only Chik-Fil-A in the world without a playground. We were also informed that the line was a mile long and that there was no parking. We opted instead to go to McDonalds. The playground was pretty sticky, but the boys were at least able to play. Once back in the car we settled Will down for his lengthy 45 minute nap.
We arrived at the beach around 5:00. We volunteered to make dinner for everyone the first night. After dinner we all went down to the beach. Will was pretty excited to get in the water.
It was a great night.
