Labor Day

Image
This morning Finn and I got up at 7:00 and played for a few hours. At about 9:00 Finn turned to me and asked "daddy golfing?" I told him no. Then he said "Daddy at work?" I told him that Daddy was upstairs. Finn immediately said "go see him." So I took Finn upstairs to wake Daddy up. I have never seen him so excited to see Michael - he absolutely freaked out. After Michael was up we went for a Labor Day breakfast at the Begley's house. Finn ate three silver dollar pancakes, eggs, strawberries and cool whip. I haven't seen him eat that much at one time in a while. After breakfast Gran and Pa took Finn to Toy-R-Us to do some birthday shopping before Pa left town. Finn made it back home at around 5:00 - just in time to get a bath and go over the Addison's for dinner. (Brandon and Carissa had invited us for dinner). Finn spent most of the night playing with Addison's Thomas train set. Lately Finn has decided t...

Finn's new brother

Image
On Friday Finn, Michael and I went to find out about the new baby. Since we were going to Tullahoma immediately after the appointment Finn had no choice but to go with us. The appointment went really well. The baby looks very healthy, and it looks like Finn is going to have a little brother. I am really excited - I always new that I was made to be a mother to boys. I am also very excited for Finn who will have a great time with his brother. Finn also had a great time at the ultrasound. He would point to the monitor and say "mama's baby." At one point he stood on a stool next to me and just looked - it was a sweet moment. Next we went to Tullahoma to spend the night with Grandad and Gigj. MJ, Coop, Hank and Lauren were there as well. Hank was so good the whole time. During our night at Grandad and Gigi's we had tacos and then we visited Gene and Minnie. While we were there Finn took a spill off of an exercise ball and bumped his head. He tried s...

This is a picture of Finn with his "Thomas Juice." While at the grocery store today Finn started pointing and saying "Thomas" over and over. Finally I saw a little single serve juice container with a Thomas straw. He was so excited about it. I let him choose between Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse and Thomas and he chose Thomas. Today on the way to JT's house Finn pointed out the fact that he had a new scrape on this knee. I asked him how he got the boo-boo and he told me that he got the boo-boo at Nana and Papa's house and specifically he got it while mowing with Papa. Well, I know this to be a complete lie. I can't believe that he is already able to make up stories. I know that he is pulling from past experiences, but he is still pretty clever to remember. Later on in the evening I spent sometime cleaning my office and room. While cleaning I turned on the Pandora radio station to the Hans Zimmer channel. Finn was absolutely mesmerized b...

The Noggin'

Image
p Today Finn had his one year check up for his head. Thankfully, Finn's noggin is perfect! I spent the rest of the day with him and we had a ball. First we went to visit Daddy to tell him the good news. Then we all went to Arby's for breakfast. Afterwards Finn and I went home and played cars. Finn rediscovered his little John Deer tractor and has not put it down all day. The first thing he said to me when I went to get him out of bed was "play with tractor." He even took it with him on our walk today. He has just been so wonderful all day today - I am so blessed to have him.

Best Friend Weekend

On Saturday JT came to spend the day with Finn while his entire family helped his sister Sarah move into her college dorm. The first thing we did when JT arrived was take a walk. I loaded both boys into the jogging stroller and we went for a long walk around the neighborhood. They seemed to have a great time together talking about rocks and butterflies. Next we took the boys outside and let them swim for a while. JT is a natural waterbaby. a Finn on the other hand is a natural sunbather. t After a long swim the boys had some lunch and then a long nap. JT slept downstairs on the loveseat with Michael while Finn and I took a nap in my bed. They spent the rest of the day either watching Mickey Mouse, playing big trucks or chasing each other around. Later on that evening, we met Chase, Lindsey, Brandon and Carissa at Olive Garden for a a nice relaxing dinner. Finn was quiet, cooperative and sweet the entire time. At some points in the night I almost for...

The Tower of Finn

Image
This week has been a tough one on Finn. He has molars coming in which is causing some tummy troubles which in turn has caused some bad diaper rash. I think we have it under control now but Finn would scream and cry for at least five minutes after each diaper change. Finn is finally starting to build towers with his blocks. Usually when we play with blocks we build tunnels for Finn's truck to drive through. But over the last week or so Finn had started stacking. Not too shabby. Finn has also started working out with me. When I lay in the floor to do my exercises Finn will lay on the floor too and raise his legs up and down.

Artwork

Yesterday in Sunday School Finn learned that God made Lions and Butterflies. Its so sweet to think about Finn sitting nicely in SS coloring. At least that's how I like to think about it. He could be a holy terror the entire time. Showing off his artwork. Just recently Finn has started lining his cars up. Sometimes he lines them up like a train. Other times side by side. Sometimes he will even line them up smallest to tallest; although I am sure that is by accident.
