Sports Widow

Tonight Finn and Michael went on the first of many "guys night out" outings without the Mama. Did I feel left out, you ask? The answer is a big, fat, resounding NO! It was great! I rarely have time at home to myself and it was just what I needed.

As for daddy and Finn they went to watch some of his friends play basketball. Finn, apparently, spent most of his night going up and down the bleachers.

Before leaving for the game Finn ate a big dinner; three bowls of "15 bean soup" to be exact. He really likes beans. The minute he got into the house this afternoon he started demanding to be fed - in a nice way of course. When Finn is really hungry, he will say eat, eat, eat, eat . . . you get the picture. When he not hungry, but wants a bite of what you are eating, he will say "bite."

After dinner he started asking to go upstairs, which comes out sounding like "uh-dares". We read Dr. Suess ABC book for a long time. It got to the point where Finn only wanted to read the page about the letter "B." It goes like this "Big B, Little B, what begins with B? Barber, Baby, Bubbles and a Bumblebee." Finn though the word bumblebee was really fun and tried his best to say it. I probably read that page 50 times. Every time I would try to move on, Finn would immediately turn back to the B page. Next I told Finn to bring the book to Dad so that Dad could read. He did as instructed. Michael opened the book somewhere in the middle and Finn immediately turned back to the B page.

Next we started singing the "back and forth" song. It is a silly song that I made up to the turn of "To and Fro" from the movie the "Sword in the Stone." Finn loves this song! We mostly sing it in the bathtub, while dragging Finn back and forth in the soapy water. This is the song that he sings the most. He at least tries to sing every word. Then we started talking about "Mama and Finn". Again, another silly song that I sing when Finn and I are looking in the mirror. It only has three words, "Mama and Finn" which are repeated as many times as Finn will allow. Finn tries to copy me . . . mama is no problem for him of course, but Finn comes out "sin." Pretty funny.
