Thanksgiving with Gran
This morning Finn was very excited about going to Sunday School. All I heard about were "goldfish" and "colors (coloring). After getting Finn ready we took a few pictures of him in his new Snowman sweater. He looked so grown up.
Finn's new favorite place to play. When I am working in the kitchen he likes to bring his trains to the table and play.
After church we drove over to Gran's church to eat Thanksgiving dinner with her and her church family. Finn wasn't interested in eating, but had a great time running around.
After lunch Finn and I made a quick stop to Target and then we came home to settle in for a long nap. Finn slept 2 and 1/2 hours!
He awoke to find the Christmas tree set up in the den. He was so excited. It didn't take very long for him to discover the train set that goes around the tree.
He also found the music boxes.
This is a picture of Finn attempting to feed a fake holly berry to fish. After so rudely pulling the berry off my decoration, he started shoving into the fish's mouth. When I asked him what he was doing he told me that he was feeding the fish an apple. Then he would periodically say "ummm."
We did have a few causalities - meaning Christmas ornaments. The first ornament that Finn attempted to put on the tree immediately fell off and came crashing to the hardwood. I didn't witness the second one - I only heard it. Luckily it was a glass ball, so it was easy to replace.
Overall Finn and I had a great time. We turned on Harry Potter and Finn played with the train, the nativity scene and the "non-breakable" ornaments while I decorated the rest of the house.
We had planned to complete the tree, but Michael didn't make it home until late. So instead, I put on the "boring" ornaments (non-character ornaments) and decorated the mantle. We will let Finn help put up the Mickey, Elmo, Veggie Ornaments tomorrow.
We also were lucky to see Uncle David. He and Sharon surprised the entire family by coming in for Thanksgiving. Finn doesn't know Uncle David very well, but warmed up to him very quickly. After he left Finn told me that he liked Uncle David because he hid behind the couch. This is code for he played hide-n-seek.
Uncle David also helped put Finn to bed tonight. It was really nice to have him home. It was very good day.
