DJ FINNSTER
On Friday I dragged the boys all over tarnation. We served a summons on a defendant. In the middle of me serving the document Finn announces that he pee-peed in his underwear. Then we went to the courthouse, to DCS, to Sonic and then to the GAP. As I was trying on a pair of jeans Sam decides to take off under the door. I got dressed as quick as I can and ran after him. All the while Finn is yelling "come back right now!" It was a really exhausting day.
We arrived at Nana and Papa's house a little after 4:00. We immediately went upstairs and Finn taught Nana how to play monster trucks. When Papa got home we drove to Murfreesboro to eat at a neat little hamburger joint that served frozen custard. The food was really good, the atmosphere was kid friendly and Sam and Finn both discovered that they love frozen custard. First they finished mine. Then they started on Nana and Papa's.
After supper we made a stop by MTSU to see Papa's office. Mom thought it might be fun for Finn to have a reference for Papa's work. She was right - Finn had a ball. First and foremost, he had a wheeled escort for the entire trip. Now note that this wasn't a kiddie ride - Nana ran as fast as she could.
Next we went into Papa's studio where Finn talked into the microphone. He kept complaining that he couldn't hear himself. Papa recorded Finn singing "Bad to the Bone" and "Who Let the Dogs Out." Sam crawled around on the floor. We really had a great time at Papa's office. I was amazed at how much it has changed since I graduated.
Neither boy was all that interested in going to bed. Sam did go down easily, but Finn refused to sleep until I got into the bed with him. This meant that he stayed up until 11:00. As mom was telling us goodnight she specifically told Finn that when he wakes up in the morning to come wake her up. Finn remembered exactly what he was told because I didn't hear a peep the next morning.
I woke up around 9:00 upon hearing mom and Finn proclaiming "snow!" They were right - it was a nice little snow. Sam didn't wake up until a little before 9:00. When I went in to check on him he was playing in the crib.
The day was great - Finn played with Papa the entire day while Sam sat in the kitchen and watched me and Nana make cookies for the Super Bowl Party. During Sam's nap we watched the first episode of Downton Abbey, which was really good.
