Micah's Birthday Party
Finn woke up at 5:15 this morning and he was ball of energy from the get go. He did end up taking about a thirty (30) "accidental" nap . Unfortunately the only reason he took a nap was because he bumped his head. Finn was crawling around in the kitchen when one of his arms slipped and he fell face first into the tile. It wasn't a hard bump, but it was enough to make him want to sit with me and rock.
At 11:00 we went to Chris and Regina's house to celebrate Micah's first birthday. I was nervous about taking Finn because I knew that like any great birthday party, it was going to be crowded, noisy and busy. And as many of you know, Finn doesn't handle crowds or strangers all that well. I was preparing to hold him through the whole party. I am happy to report that Finn proved me wrong. He was happy and friendly and eager to play with Micah and the other children. I wouldn't go as far as to call Finn a "social butterfly," "social larva" may be more like it.
During the party Finn stole food off of Micah's plate, he played on Micah's slide and he tested out Micah's walker. The walker was his favorite.
Next he helped Micah play with his new presents. The minute Micah would pull out a toy, Finn was all over it.
Before we left, we took some group pictures outside.
When we got home Michael and Finn took a short nap before church.
After the service, we went to pick Finn up from the nursery. The door to the nursery was cracked a little and I could see Finn sitting in the very back of the room in the corner. It didn't take long for Finn to spot us through the crack and when he did he let out the guy equivalent of a "blood curdling" scream. He was sitting in a exersaucer so he wasn't able to crawl over to us. His only option was to scream on the top of his lungs and reach.
Next we went back to the fellowship area to have ice cream sundays with Victoria, JT, Monica and Kristina.
