The "Finnster, et al."

Halloween this year was busy.  We started at Boo at the Zoo with the Begleys. Then we went to the Clayton's.  Michael and I went as Carl and Russell from "UP." My closest friends. This was actual Halloween night.  Finn was dressed as Venom, Sam as Black Panther, and Will as a dinosaur. We met the Begley cousins in Creekside for trick-r-treating.  It was special night because we were able to visit our old home on Fulman Road.  We were also able to talk to our old neighbors and see Finn and Sam's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Raymer.

This year for Grandad's birthday, Grandad, Gigi, Zac, Emily, Cooper, Hank, and Quinn all came to our house to spend the night.  The boys loved it.  They slept together in the living room.  They next day they got all of the Halloween decorations out and made this little Halloween fort.

This year Finn's 4th grade class toured the Hermitage.  After the tour, they changed out of their DA attire and into their period garb in order to serve as junior Docents with the Hermitage staff. Finn spent the afternoon demonstrating the "Jacob's ladder" toy for guests of The Hermitage.  I was told that he a wonderful job.  He spoke clearly, loudly, and spoke his lines as written.

It's hard to believe, but Finn is ten (10) years old.  He has been with us for an entire decade.  I hate to use all the clichés (where did the time go, how do I have a ten year old, and just like that he was ten) but they are all clichés for a reason I guess.  I don't really know what to say.  Not because I don't know what to say, but because I have so much to say to you that I don't know how to choose what to say.   First, I'll say you haven't changed that much since the day you were born. You are sweet son.  You have always wanted to be right in the thick of things. Since the moment we brought you home you have wanted to be right next to me and daddy and you still do today.  When you sit on the couch you sit as close to me as possible.  I have always loved this about you.  You make me feel really special.  You are a fantastic big brother.  You are so kind a protective of Will.  While you and Sam fight regularly, I have no doubt that he is your best f
