House of Cards

Image
On a whim, we accepted an invitation to go to "House of Cards" with our friends CJ and Jody.  They invited us along with the Claytons, and another couple with whom they attended college (Ethen and Cassandra). You can't take photos inside the venue so we shoved into the only acceptable photo spot. "House of Cards" is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. First, the dress code was very strict; the men were required to wear diner jackets. A nice change of pace from going out in jeans.  Next, the food was really good.  I had a steak.  Third, they had a piano that played anything that you request.  I requested "I Guess That's Why They Call Them the Blues" by Elton John. Fourth, they have magicians stationed in nooks all over the restaurant so that you can watch/participate while you wait.  Fifth, they offer a magic show in the main theater, Sixth they have a great terrace for relaxing. Thanksgiving Lunch with Will

Image
Will's daycare hosted a Thanksgiving lunch for the students and their family members this year.  I had court the morning of the luncheon, but assured his teachers that I would be there.  When I arrived all of the students and their parents were sitting around large tables in the fellowship hall preparing to eat.  Will's teachers spotted me before he did.  When they pointed to me across the room a big smile crossed his face.  When I made it to the table he gave me a big hug and jumped in my lap.  His teachers told me that he was a nervous wreck that I wouldn't make it. He was so relieved - that is probably the reason he was so sweet to me.  We had the best time.

Christmas Photos 2019

Image
This year we took the Begley Christmas photos in early November.  This means that we put our tree up the day after Halloween. The theme this year was "Visions of Sugar Plums."  Gran brought pajamas for all of the boys and lot of decorations so that we could turn our living room into a sugarplum dream.  Sam got hold of my phone at one point and this is what he captured. It was also close to my birthday so Michael and the boys surprised me with a cake. Our family pictures.
