A Mother's Shame

Yesterday while at work I received a call from the daycare informing me that Will had a blowout and didn't have any clean clothes.  Instead of running home, I went across the street to the baby consignment shop and bought him a few things.  When I got back to the daycare I found my poor poopy baby wrapped in a pink blanket wearing a hat.  The hat was the only thing that I had in the diaper bag.  Further evidence of my superior mothering skills.

Later that same evening I was shamed once again, this time by my elder children's behavior.  We all know that a child's language and behavior is directly related to parenting.  Great.  Allow me to set the scene.  Finn and Sam were taking a long bath in my bathroom.  I was in my adjoining bedroom feeding Will.  After Will was satisfied, I went back into the bathroom to check on the boys.  As I entered the bathroom, to my horror, I heard Sam politely ask the following: "Finn, split water into my booty." I give up.

We finally dug around and found Will a teething ring.  Well, I think this is a teething ring.  Either way, it works like a charm.

Coming Home

It is never easy to come home from a Disney trip, but this time it was a bit easier because I came to this face.

We met Gigi at Busy Corner in Manchester for the exchange.  I was hoping that Will would be really excited to see me - but he wasn't.  In fact, when I went to pick him up he seemed to prefer to stay with Gigi.  I sat in the backseat with him all the way back to Gallatin.  He cried the whole way home. Suffice it say, my "welcome home mom" was not as I expected.  Matters got worse when Will didn't want to breastfeed the rest of the night.  One of my biggest fears about going to Disney was that Will would ween while I was gone.  Well, thankfully he didn't.  By the next morning it was back to business as usual.

Will is starting to show interest is sitting up. He is still terrible at it, but we are making progress.

As cantankerous as Will can be, he still has the best smile.  This is what he looks like when you give him 100% of your attention.  Consequently, Will gets a lot of attention.

Last Day

Saturday was our last day in the park.  I felt a little sad on the way in. The sadness quickly dissipated when I realized how crowded it was.  I don't know if I have ever seen crowds like this.  Despite the crowds, we rode 11 rides.  I couldn't believe it.

Our "meeting" place.  This place has great bathrooms.  We always seemed to start and end our day at City Hall.

Our first stop was Mickey's PhilharMagic.  It is the best show! All the boys loved it. Then we went to use our Fast Passes at Pooh Bear.

Mom excels at "photo bombing."

Then we made our way over to the circus area to ride Dumbo.

Then it was off to lunch at "Be out Guest."  This restaurant is in the Beauty and the Beast section.  We made a quick stop at the Gaston statue.

The view from "Be our Guest"

The entrance to the restaurant.

Waiting in line at the restaurant.

We sat in the ballroom.  But we went to look at the drawing room and the West Wing.

The "Gray Stuff" cupcake.  So good.

Next we rode the "Little Mermaid."  It got stuck for a few minute under the eels.  Sam was a little nervous.

Impromptu, "I love you mom" moment.

We rode the Seven Dwarves Mine Train again.  We used Fast Passes. The line was almost 2 hours long for standby.

PhilharMagic for the second time.

Pirates of the Caribbean.

Space Mountain.  Finn loved it this time.  Michael stayed with Cooper, Hank, Quinn and Sam.

We finished the day with Peter Pan and Small World.

Our "exit" picture.  I admittedly cried. It was such a great trip.

Later that evening Me, Michael, Emily and Zac went back to Magic Kingdom.  We watched "Wishes" again.  Then we walked around some of the shops.  About the time we were set to go, the "Once Upon a Time" show started.  It was so good!

They begged to have this picture taken.  It was quite embarrassing.

The Begley crew arrived at Nana and Papa's house on Wednesday night around supper time.  We unpacked and set the boys up in their new ...
