Magic Kingdom

Today was our first day in the park.  We woke up and went for a big breakfast at the Hilton.  Finn and Sam ate a bite of almost everything on the buffet.  Next we drove to the Disney All Star Music Resort to meet the rest of the family. Due to a small flight delay, we were the first to arrive at the Resort.  The Begley clan being the first to arrive almost never happens.  Anyway, we got checked in and unpacked.

Once were were all there we hopped on the bus and went to the Magic Kingdom.  Finn and Sam were so excited.  Every few minutes Finn would ask "mom, can you even stand it?"  This was Finn's way of asking me if I was excited.

Once in the park we took a few minute to wander around Main Street.  Then we went to our "honorary bathroom spot."  We ended up using the bathroom at City Hall regularly.

The "Mickey Christmas Carole" window display.  It was adorable.

Sam and the Lego Castle.

Finn's "go to" pose for the week.

We arrived just before one of the parade's came down Main Street.

Yes, Michael was THAT excited about the parade.

Our first ride was  Buzz Lightyear.  Several weeks ago Sam and I decided that we would ride together and challenge Finn and Michael to a dual of sorts.  We "trash talked" them for weeks about how we were going to smoke them.  Well, that didn't happen.  Finn and Michael bet up handily.

Afterwards we went to eat lunch at the Pinocchio Village Haus.  The atmosphere was great and the food was pretty good too.

Then we went to meet Mickey at Town Square.  Finn and Sam talked to Mickey and pretended to be pirates for a picture. I almost missed the picture entirely as I was in the one of the many bathroom's that I frequented throughout the week to pump a bottle for Will.

Then it was off to ride the Race Cars.  Sam and I rode together, while Finn rode with Papa.

Next we rode Winnie the Pooh.  Finn and Sam rode this ride together.

Then we rode Seven Dwarves Mine Train.  Finn and I rode in the front and Sam and Michael rode right behind us. Finn was so pumped after this ride was over.

Then it was time for the big parade with the fire breathing dragon.  It was great!

By that point was getting pretty late in the afternoon so Emily and her crew went back for naps. We decided to stay a bit longer and rode Splash Mountain.  Finn and Sam both loved it!  They especially loved how wet Nana and Papa got.  At the last minute Finn and I ducked so Nana and Papa got soaked.

Next we grabbed ice cream bars and then decided to ride the Haunted Mansion.  Finn was pretty scared at first, but enjoyed the ride once it got going.  Sam rode with Nana and Papa and did really well too.

On our way out Finn and Papa rode the Seven Dwarves again, while Nana, Sam and I rode the carousel. Sam had been asking to ride it all day.

Once we got back to the room we immediately left again to go to Disney Springs for dinner at Wolfgang Pucks.  I couldn't believe how good it was!  Before leaving, we stopped at the Lego store and we stopped and let the boys get spit on by "Stitch."

As we were going to bed that evening Sam put his hand on my knee and said, "Mom, I am so happy to be at Disney with you."  It was great day.

Manhandled

Finn and Sam give Will absolutely NO personal space whatsoever.  They are always in face yelling and grabbing on him.  For a few minutes he will tolerate it.

Then he gets mad and starts swinging those arms.  I have warned both boys that they deserve whatever Will dishes out.

Last Thursday was Finn's field day.  He wasn't too excited about it because he didn't get to participate at all.  He was even more upset by the fact that he only came home with a "participants" ribbon.  I guess Finn expected to get a ribbon for "Best Score Keeper."

Mexico Beach

Today I embarked on my first ever “girls’ trip.”  I have always had friends that went with their other girl friends on beach vacations, but I have never been on one myself.
The trip started at 6:30 a.m.  I kissed the boys goodbye (Finn woke up to make sure that he got a hug) and hopped in my newly cleaned van to head to Robyn’s house. I had originally intended to meet Samantha and Karen in Hendersonville, but I spent a little too much time with the boys and got behind.  Instead, we met at Robyn’s house a little after 7:00.
Once we all arrived, we packed up the van and set out for 109.  The van has really come in handy.  We were able to get all of our suitcases, bag, pillow, etc. packed neatly into the van with room to spare.

We officially hit the road at 7:30 – the destination – Mexico Beach Florida.  Samantha’s mom has a condo that she graciously let us rent at a ridiculously low price.  The crew consisted of Samantha, Robyn, Karen and myself.  Samantha sat up front with me; Robyn an…

Gatlinburg 2.0

In mid-June Finn and Sam accompanied Grandad and Gigi to Gatlinburg.  This is their second annual trip so will refer to it as Gatlinburg 2.0. Michael, Will and I were at home, so outside of some awesome pictures and few sweet phone calls, we don't have a great deal of knowledge about the trip. What I do know is that the trip started with hot Kristy Kremes.  Upon arriving in Gatlinburg, Finn asked if the "hot sign" was on.  Seeing that it was, they stopped in for donuts.

They also went back to Clingman's Dome.  They went last year, but I didn't pack long pants and jackets so they were pretty chilly.  It was also really foggy last year.  This year went as planned; the air was clear and the boys were warm.

One of my favorites!

Another favorite.

And . . . another favorite.

They went to Dollywood later than evening and then again the next day.

It amazes me how pop culture "savy" kids are at 5.  I was never that "in the loop."
