Finn’s Baptism

Finn, on December 6, 2009, Michael and I dedicated you to the Lord. On March 24, 2019, Finn made a public profession of his faith in Jesus.  To God be the glory, for this has nothing to do with our parenting skills or your worthiness - this is the gospel. Christ died so that you may live.  Raised to Life! (This was my Facebook post).

Finn was baptized on March 24, 2019, at Long Hollow Baptist Church.  Michael was able to baptize him. John Steen was the minister in the baptism with them.  Finn had tons of family there to watch - Nana, Papa, Quinn, Sam, Gran, David, James, Chelsea, Grandad and Gigi.  Pa able to watch online.

Finn waited a while after accepting Christ to get baptized.  He was nervous and didn't want to get up in front of our entire church. I have prayed pretty consistently over the past several months for Finn to feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit and follow through with baptism.  One day, out of the blue, Finn approached Michael and told him that he wanted to be baptized.  I was so thankful for an answer to prayer.

A week before the baptism Michael, Finn and I attended a baptism class for young children at church.  After the class we signed Finn up to be baptized the next week.

He was nervous on Sunday morning, but didn't panic.  He and Michael went up into the baptistry area before the 9:30.  I arrived at the service early so that I could save 14 seats.  As I was sitting there I saw Finn poke his head through the baptistry curtain and wave at me.

Finn was baptized early in the service.  He came out very confidently and when John Steen asked if he had made Jesus the Lord of his life he answered "yes sir."  After coming out of the water he turned to his family and waved at us.  It was a precious moment.

The picture above is of the three of us on Finn's baptism day - the one below is of the three of us at Finn's baby dedication.

After church all of the Begleys went to Five Guys for burgers and shakes.

Will went home with Nana after church so we decided to take the boys to Waffle House for dinner.  They LOVE Waffle House.

Finn and Michael watching the Duke games.  Finn asked me if we could take "100 selfies."
