Sugar and Spice and Everythig Nice

This morning Finn woke at 5:45. I went into his room to coax him back to sleep by laying my head on the foot of his bed. He decided to turn his entire body around and lay his head directly on top of mine. We decided to get up instead. It wasn't so bad though - Finn only woke up one time last night and it was at 2:00. I took his nightlight out of his room hoping that the darkness would help him stay asleep. He never had a night light in his crib - so why mess with a system that was wildly successful. We'll see how it goes.

After getting up we went downstairs for some breakfast. It was freezing and Finn let me know about it. He has never whined about being cold before. All I have to say is "get used to it son." Those that know us well know that we keep a cold house in the winter months. Since Finn was so cold I let him eat his eggs on the couch wrapped up in a down comforter.

After breakfast Finn helped me cook a sour cream coffee cake for Sunday School. We had a ball. I put all the ingredients, measuring cups, spoons and bowls in the floor. I would measure everything out and hand it to Finn who would dump it in the bowl. Then he would stir. He was so happy to help mama cook. When were done Finn liked the spoon and then the bowl.

When we picked Finn up from Sunday School this morning we were told that they played on the playground. Finn was so keyed up after church this morning. He was super sweet and super talkative. We went for Daddy's cheat meal to Zaxby's were Finn didn't stop talking for the entire hour. Once home Finn took a nap and then played with his puzzle pieces on daddy.

Michael and I were talking today about how much independent Finn is becoming. He will play on the floor with his toys all by himself. Today he looked at his books and then stacked him up on his dump truck. He still would prefer that we play with him, but he can entertain himself now.

The first part of our weekend was great too. On Friday we all went to a Sunday School party at John and Victoria's house. I didn't see a whole lot of Finn that night - he was running around after JT most of the time. The only time I really noticed Finn was when he was pitching a fit - which happened several times for some reason.

On Saturday we went to Sparta to have family pictures taken. We meet Mom, Greg, Em and Zac at McDonalds. The pictures went really well. Afterward we had some pizza at Papa and Granny's house. Finn pushed around one of Granny's big trucks while wearing a yellow fireman's hat. He looked so cute.
