Terrible 2's

And rightly named. On Friday Finn woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Which actually is inaccurate as he did not sleep the entire night his bed. At 12:30 he hopped on the mattress with me. Either way, he was very unpleasant. He threw a ten (10) minute fit over his breakfast. I was appalled and flabbergasted at his behavior. After being in time out I decided that he could just go hungry until lunch.

I had an OB appointment at 8:00 - Finn and Michael accompanied me. Thankfully Finn was very well behaved during the appointment. When we got home I put Finn in the stroller, handed him a peanut butter sandwich and we went for a walk. After about a half of a mile Finn decided that he didn't want to wear his seatbelt anymore. He screamed "bloody murder" for the next mile and half. I just put the hood up on the stroller and ignored him. I have never been more disappointed in his behavior. When we got home Finn spent a long time in "timeout." After "timeout" Finn and I had a talk - he was very sweet and well behaved the rest of the day.

After his nap he came downstairs and asked to sit in my lap. He wanted to watch "Chess" so I put it in and we snuggled for a while.

At around 4:00 Finn started to get restless, he seems to get this way about this time everyday that I am home with him. I think he realizes that it is close to time for Daddy to get home.


I can always tell when it is about to start because Finn get's bored in the den and wants to sit at the kitchen table. Today Finn brought all of his trains to the kitchen table and played while I prepared dinner.

After dinner I took Finn over to Gran and Pa's house for a backyard campout. Finn was so sweet. He was super excited about the big tent in the backyard, but want to stay close to me. He would give me great big bear hugs every few minutes. He didn't want me to put him down either which is completely uncharacteristic for the Finnster. He was either feeling crummy or he knew how mad I was at him earlier and was trying to make up for it. I will post camping pictures after I get them.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
