Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving this year started with a drive to Manchester on Wednesday night. When we got to Nana and Papas we ate taco soup and baked potatoes. After supper we watched the boys play and then watched "American Horror Story" in the den. Midway through the show Finn decided that he wanted to sit with us. He came and sat in my lap and asked for his soft blanket. He wiggled around until he got comfortable (not sure how he managed given that I was sitting indian style in the floor) and dozed off.

When it was time to go to bed Finn, Daddy and I crawled into the murphey bed and attempted a restful night sleep. We did pretty good until around 2:00 at which time Finn started sitting straight up in bed and saying random words. Michael would come back at him with inaudible grunts that were clearly complaints. After the next few hours of getting kicked in the back I decided to make a move to the couch. I finally ended up falling back to sleep around 5:00.

At 6:30 mom, Cooper and Finn got up and we started our day. We started the day by making egg souffles. Finn started his day by breaking a coaster, pulling the head off of a "Goofy" Christmas ornament and crushing up a candy cane which collectively lead to timeout. Aunt Em put him in timeout which I think completely disoriented him - it was pretty funny.

The boys were not very interested in the parade and instead opted to play the piano. While playing in the living room Finn tripped over his own feet and crashed head first into the piano bench. He got a nice purple bump over his right eye. Finn's first shiner! And you better believe he let us all know about it.

Prior to Thanksgiving dinner Finn and Cooper played outside.

Check out those super cute boys!

Dinner was great as always Finn ate rolls and homemade ice cream - all the major food groups. After dinner the boys helped us open our Christmas ornaments; the FisherPrice school house, a Santa Clause and the Peek Patrol Car. The boys loved the car. It has a penguin in it and it yells at you if it thinks you are peeking in on the presents.

After dinner the boys played upstairs while the adults digested. Then we got pack up and headed back to Hendersonville. On our way to the interstate we talked to Grandad and he volunteered to keep Finn for the night and bring him home the next day since he would be working in Hendersonville - SCORE! So, we promptly made a b-line for dad's house and dropped Finn off for the night. Finn went immediately for the farm house and didn't blink an eye when he left.

It was great getting to sleep in the next day!
