Our Family Christmas

Christmas morning was awesome! The boys woke up around 7:00 and played in the playroom until around  8:00 when it was time to open presents.  Since Finn doesn't believe in Santa we wrapped everything.  Gran and Pa arrived at the house at 8:00 to watch the boys open their gifts.

We let them open one at a time so that they could see all the presents.  Many of the gifts were for the boys to share. Their favorite present was the Bat Cave and the Gotham City Jail.

Michael and I exchanged gifts too.  Michael got me a gift card to Ann Taylor, but forgot to actually wrap it.  Instead, he wrapped a $10.00 off coupon.  It wasn't until after I opened the coupon that he realized that the gift card had fallen out of the envelope.  Luckily it was still in his car.  It was pretty funny though. Gran and Pa also gave me one of my presents - maid service for a year!

After we opened presents, Gran and Pa went home and I cooked Christmas breakfast.  The boys stayed in their jammies all day and played with their new toys as Michael and I snuggled on the couch.  Michael and Sam worked together to build Sam's Batman Duplo set.

After their naps we all got ready and went for Christmas dinner in Clarksville at Mimi's house.  The boys really had a good time at Mimi's.




This is a picture of the boys waiting for the unveiling of the Bat Cave.  They were so excited.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
