Working with Mom

Since Finn spent much of Monday night throwing up, we spent much of Tuesday at work with me.  I had to be in court all morning, so I set Finn up with Netflix on my office computer, my Ipad, a pastry from the coffee shop around the corner, and pallet on the floor just in case he started feeling poorly again. Fortunately, Finn was very excited to go to work with me. Unfortunately for the office, Finn was feeling much better by the time I left him the capable hands of Lori and and Lawren. 

Whilst sitting on the bench, pretending to be a grown-up, I received the following pictures via text from Lawren.  



At some point Finn went rummaging through the office and found some old swords that Butch had laying around. After much struggle, Finn was ultimately defeated. 

















After getting back from court, I found that Finn had left me sweet notes and pictures all over my office.  Writing this blog reminded me of when I use to bring Finn to work with me when he was a baby. Really, not much as changed - he still rolls around all over my office floors, tried to steal my chair, bangs on my computer keys and whines to go home. Regardless, I love having the boys at the office.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
