Halloween 2021

Halloween may be Will's favorite holiday. Right after his birthday he immediately starts talking about two things - Christmas and Halloween.  Will has always enjoyed spooky things, particularly skeletons and zombies - so Halloween is right up his alley.

Since will attends Beech this year, he was able to dress up for a few days around Halloween.  Will was so excited to put purple hair spray in his hair for Wacky Wednesday.

He also decided that he wanted to be Luigi again this year.  He was Luigi last year - but since he likes this costume so much, he decided to wear it again.

Will's Kindergarten class - Ms. Garrett.

This year Halloween fell on a Sunday, but we went Trick-R-Treating on Saturday evening.  Gran had ordered the boys Halloween costumes like she does every year, except this year the costumes didn't come in on time (Covid related, I'm sure).  For the record, the boys were going to be inflated T-Rex dinosaurs. It seems as though this happened to every family in Sumner County because there was not a costume to be found in the whole of Hendersonville. So, we scrambled.

Sam decided that he wanted to be a "rapper." Don't ask me why, but this is what he wanted, so I started finding things around the house that would turn my sweet, angelic child into a rough and tumble rapper.  The moment Will saw the finished product he was so impressed that he said "MOM! I want to be 'scrapper' too!" So, off I went to find things to turn my sweet five year old into a scrappy "scrapper" - just like his cool older brother.

They both desperately wanted "grillz" or silver mouth pieces - but I couldn't get the foil to stay on their teeth.  Instead, I gave them face tattoos.

Finn was a little less clear about what he wanted.  He had a long, blond wig that he wanted to wear, so I tried my best to work around that.  At first we though about Hulk Hogan - but given our time constraints - Hulkamania was not to be.  The finished product ended up looking like this . . .

We met the rest of the family at Gran and Pa's house and then went across the street to trick-r-treat.  It was cold and rainy and so we had most of the neighborhood to ourselves!

On Halloween night, we spent the evening at home ready to hand out candy.  We got one trick-r-treater all night.  They were a set of teenagers and they weren't in costumes.  Lame.
