Ride Along with Thomas

This morning Finn woke up at 7:45. Why is it that when I have to get up early Finn decides to sleep in? Anyway, we were up early for a good reason - we went to ride on Thomas today. We put on Finn's train overalls and headed to the Nashville Central Railroad museum. Finn was very excited to go.When we got there the first stop that we made was to "Imagination Station" where Finn played with blocks and watched other children playing with miniature train set. They had the trains sets everywhere - I have never seen so many.

Next we headed over to stand in line to board Thomas.

Finn and Daddy right before boarding.

Here we are inside the train. We had a nice little corner in the back next to a picture of "Diesel." The ride was really nice - it didn't go too fast and they played Thomas songs the whole way. Finn really enjoyed being on the train.

Next we waited in line to have our picture taken with Thomas. Michael and I took turns holding our spot in line while the other one took Finn around to look at Thomas. The first Finn saw Thomas he looked over and me and his mouth fell open. Then he pointed, smiled and said "Thomas!" Then he said - "go see Thomas." I put Finn down and let him walk over to the chain dividers - which he subsequently pulled down in a mad rush to see Thomas.
The wait wasn't too terribly long before it was Finn's turn to stand on the platform and have his picture taken in front of Thomas.

One happy little boy.

Next we went to the petting zoo area. Finn did not want to touch the animals, but the animals really seemed to want to hang with Finn.

Then we stopped to have Finn's picture taken in front of the "steamies."

And then in front of the "diesels"

Afterwards we went to the gigantic gift shop to look around. I had one mission and that was to buy a "Gordon" but of course they were completely out - instead we bought a book for Finn before we left.

Next we went to the information next desk to pick up Finn's prize for making it to all the stations. Finn calls it his Thomas plate. It is a large, circular picture with pictures of all 50 or so trains on it.

Finn was a little fussy when we left, but overall it was such a fun experience. I am so glad that we were able to do this with Finn.
