Sam's First Birthday Party

We learned that the nursery will not take Sam until he is six (6) weeks old so Sam and I stayed home from church again this week.  Sam took the opportunity to catch up on some much needed sleep (yeah right).  I love these pictures - he looks so sweet.






Before leaving for church Finn decided to tell his brother "goodbye."   Thankfully he didn't squash him to death.

After church the boys took a nap and then Sam and I went to buy Ella a birthday present.  Later that day we went to Ella's First Birthday Party.  Finn had birthday cake and then attempted to play upstairs with the other children.  As Finn is not particularly social, I guess all we can say is "he tried his best."

That night Michael went to play basketball and I gave the boys their first bath together. As I was filling up th bathtub I noticed that Sam was starting to float away.  I had to let a little bit of the water out.  I washed Sam and then filled the rest of the tub up for Finn.

    Erin, I look forward to the Blog & keeping up with the boys. I just wish John (Veda's brother) were still with us so he could share this. Maybe he's watching from heaven.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
