Crush Cars

Monday was MLK day - meaning that both Michael and I were home with the boys.  I woke up early with them and Finn and I played with "crush cars."  Finn has been watching YouTube videos on my IPad and came across a video of a dad and son making and playing with crush cars.  I grabbed the aluminum foil and Finn and I made crush cars for an hour.  Basically you just mold the foil around a little car until you get the shape - and then you let the monster trucks crush them up.





After Michael got up I left to do a half day of work.  When I got back Finn and I sat at the kitchen table and played with Play-Doh.  Sam was so upset about the Play-Doh he wanted to play so badly, but we wouldn't let him because he tried to eat it.  His temper tantrum really killed the fun.

Later that evening Michael and I went on our MLK date.  As I have mentioned before we got engaged on MLK weekend in Chicago so to commemorate our engagement we try to spend some time together.  We decided to use our Groupon and go to Fulins.  Nothing better than a cheap date.


We of course had homemade blizzards and watched the Bachelor.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
