Two Tiny Steps

This is a picture of Sandy watching Finn take a bath.  Sandy has always been very sweet and protective of Finn.  I think that she may want to get in with him. This picture was taken Saturday night during Finn and Gran's movie night.

 On Monday the boys stayed at home with me.  While I was working the boys decided to make me breakfast. 
Nap time was pretty interesting on Monday.  I put Finn down for a nap and went downstairs for lunch.  While I was eating I thought I heard something moving around upstairs.  I figured it was Fannie because when Finn gets out of bed he sits at the top of the stairs and whispers "mom!"  I didn't see him hovering so I finished lunch.  Afterwards I went upstairs and plan to work on my laptop in bed. When I walked in I saw Finn laying in my bed with his eyes closed. He was chin deep in covers and looked so comfortable so I turned the lights off and climbed in with him until he feel back asleep.  I was rudely awoken by my doorbell.  I walked outside to see the contractor that poured our patio hopping over our fence to take a picture of the patio.





On Tuesday Gran took Finn to Whiz Kids. On the way they stopped at Dunkin Donuts - Finn got the chocolate filled, chocolate covered/with white sprinkles, heart shaped donut.  Finn ate the whole thing on the way to school.  It was also a little sunny that day.


After school Finn went to Jake and Katie's house for the rest of the day. After work Michael and Sam met Gran at Cracker Barrel while I prepared for court. When the boys got home Sam started playing in the kitchen.  Then took two tiny steps.  I don't know if they actually count as steps because he just picked one foot up and put down and then picked the other foot up and put it down. But he did have some forward progression.  The was so proud though.




The other thing that he really enjoys doing is crawling and then sticking his backside way up the air and looking through his legs.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
