Valentine's Day 2013

This year for Valentine's Day Michael gave me the sweetest gift.  We have never spent a lot of money on each other for Valentine's Day and I didn't expect anything.  This year Michael came home during his lunch break and cleaned up the house.  I was so happy!

We took the boys to a Valentine dinner at Qdobas.  If you give your "sweety" a kiss in line you can get one free meal.  Finn and Sam are becoming very difficult to eat out with.  If you don't constantly put food into Sam's mouth he will bust the eardrums of anyone in a two (2) mile radius. 

 After supper we walked over to Marble Slab to get dessert.  Finn got the standard, vanilla ice cream with gummy worms.  Sam ate most of rocky road.  I don't know where he puts it all.

When we got home Finn and Sam opened their presents.  We got Finn a Batman car, a Sponge Bob "peep" a cookie sucker, and a whole back of heart shaped marshmallows.  Sam got a small package of marshmallows too.

Next Gran came over and gave Sam and Finn their gifts.  They both both chocolate and jammies and books.  Sam got his very own "Thomas" and tear jerking book.  Finn got a monster truck and a Spiderman toothbrush.  Michael and I got a great floor lap for the south side of our living room (or the cave).

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
