The Circus

Saturday morning was very nice.  Finn went to Gran's house early to get ready to go to the circus. Sam and I hung around the house until it was time for Sam's haircut.

Around 10:00 I took Sam to get a haircut.  The lady that cut his hair scolded me a bit for letting Sam's hair get too long in the back. Don't worry, I got her back - or maybe I should say Sam got her back.  Sam was having no part of his haircut.  I literally had him in a headlock through the entire cut.  He was screaming on the top of his lungs so I strategically positioned his mouth into my shirt - which thankfully muffled the screams.   I had to tip the girl more that I normally would for having to deal with us. 

On the way out I asked Sam if he enjoyed his haircut and he every excitedly said, "yes, I did." 

Meanwhile, Finn was living it up at the circus!  Finn and Gran had a great time.  First, they had great seats.  Second, they were randomly selected to sit in the carriages and watch most of the show from the floor.  It looked so exciting!

They had an awesome time!  Finn was so excited when he got home that he could hardly string two sentences together.


 Gran came home with lazer swords for both boys.

Thank you Gran for a great day!

We have finally figured out a way to keep Sam's head warm.  He wont' wear a hat - but he will wear the ear warmers.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
