He Speaks

Will is officially talking.  He speaks in full sentences and well thought out paragraphs.  Unfortunately I can't understand a word of it.  Believe it or not, this is actually an improvement.  He has been basically silent (absent crying and fussing) for most of his life.  It is great to finally hear him talk. It's almost like he says known how to talk the whole time, but just decided to actually do it one day.

Now, not all of his words are indistinguishable.  Some of his new favorites are:

1. Watch Mama.  Any time Will plays with a toy or runs through the house he says "watch" or "Mama. Watch."  I get so tickled with him because he says so fast and choppy.

2. Will call Nana, Nanni.  He can also say "Papa."

3. Will loves to play with the WWE wrestling figures.  He doesn't know their proper names yet, so he call them collectively "bad guys."

4. Will can spot Batman from a mile away.  With a deep raspy voice he says "MatMan!"  He actually calls all superheros "MatMan" - except for the Hulk which he can clearly pronounce.

5.  He always says "bye" to the lady at McDonalds who serve me my morning coffee.

6. After dinner one night he said, "thank you so much!"

7. He loves Curious George - which he refers to as "Monk."

8.  He can make almost all of his animal sounds.

9.  Dunk.  Will loves to play basketball.  He will walk up the goal, hold the ball in the air and say "dunk."  This is his cue for us to pick him up high enough that he can dunk.

10. Other words:  shark, water, hot, cold, mama's car, b-ball, apple.

Will loves getting under the covers.  Whether he is on my bed or on the couch, Will lays down on my pillow and pulls up the covers.  He did this all by himself.
