Mixers and Toasters and Monkeys

Today Nana came to visit.  The purpose of the visit was two fold - first to see the boys and second to give them their Valentine's Day presents. When she got there Finn was asleep so Nana held Sam while I opened his present.  It was a precious blue monkey sleeper with wrist rattles.

A little while later I went upstairs to wake Finn up from his nap.  Before putting him to bed I told him that when he woke up Nana would be here.  The first thing he asked upon opening his eyes was "is Nana here?"  This one doesn't forget anything.

After saying hello to Nana Finn went straight for his presents.  He got some Sesame Street "road", a toaster and a mixer for his kitchen.  Finn was excited about all of his presents but seriously loved that mixer. We put some water in the bowl and let him mix the water.  Then we put an egg in the bowl and let him mix that up as well.  Afterwards we put the egg in the microwave and Finn ate it for a snack.

The boys had a great time with Nana and we were really bummed to see her go.  After Nana left I went to Walmart to buy some Valentine's Candy for Finn.  Then we met Brandon and Carissa at Painturo's for supper.  I held Sam almost the entire time.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
