Bad Weather

Friday was an interesting day.  The boys and I woke up and played for a while until I realized that I had forgotten to file an important document so we threw our clothes on and rushed up to the courthouse.   When we got there Finn happened upon the long hallway that leads to the jail.  The hallway was completely empty so he took off down the hallway as though he was running for his life.  The officer that monitors the entire building by way of cameras must have seen Finn’s runway antics because the second he took off she started laughing.

When we got home Finn took a nap and I prepared the “safe room” for the impending bad weather.  The storms weren’t supposed to reach our house until around 4:00, but I wouldn’t let Finn leave my side after 3:30.  Everywhere I went, Finn had to follow.  I didn’t want to get in a situation where the meteorologist told us to take cover and have Finn on the other side of the house. Thankfully we didn’t get any really bad weather. Finn still can’t tell me where our “safe room” is.  We will continue to work on that.   

Later that night, after the boys went to sleep Grandad and Gigi came to spend the night.  They had been at Emily’s house for her birthday and decided to stay the night with us. 

That next morning, Finn played with Grandad and Gigi until we went to eat breakfast at IHOP.  Finn ate his entire plate of pancakes and some of Grandad’s too.  Sam sat next to me and drank a bottle.

 
Finn drove back from IHOP with Grandad and Gigi.  On the way home they stopped and got Lady and the Tramp and a “Ramone” car.

Lauren also came to visit Sam for the first time.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
