Day 1

This morning the boys woke up at 6:30 - all of them!  Papa went to Krispie Creme and brought back doughnuts - just what you want before getting into a bathing suit.  Finn was so excited to go down to build a sand castle.
Our room is on the 10th floor - this is a "Sam's Eye View."

After breakfast we got all the boys ready for their day in the sun.  I am amazed at how much stuff you have to pack for a single day at the beach.  Emily carried the biggest beach bag I have ever scene.

Before we left Finn reminded several time to put sunscreen on him. Such a little safety monitor :)

We got down to the beach around 8:30.  Sam still was a little hesitant.  It took him a while to get used to it.  He cried and squealed at every new texture; dry sand, packed sand, wet sand, the water.  It really took a while for him to warm up to the whole process.

Finn was an old pro.  He took the sand quickly.  He dropped his bag of goodies and immediately started building.  Michael had to force him into the water - and of course he panicked and cried - oh Finn . . .
Going in with Nana and Papa

They both really enjoyed the sand.  Finn and Papa built together for a while.

Near the end of our time at the beach Sam and I sat in the surf and watched the waves come in.  Sam must have gotten a spurt of bravery and decided to stick his head in the water to get a drink.  Right about the time he put his head down the tide came in and drenched him.  He was so mad.

Next we played in the pool.  Finn and Sam played in the deeper water.  Finn practiced jumping off the side.  Then he did the unexpected and swam on his own with his water wings.
Next it was time for naps.  Papa and Nana stayed with the boys while Em, Zac, Michael and I sat out by the pool.

For supper we went across the street to the "Front Porch" for seafood.  Finn had french fries and Sam ate fish and hush puppies.

Finn had a bad habit of throwing crayons and other expendable items from the table out the window.
After supper Finn and I walked down to the beach.  When Finn realized that he couldn't build a sand castle or play in the water he decided to back to the room.  Before doing so we stopped and had pictures takes at ship outside the restaurant.
We caught up with the rest of the family playing frisbee in the yard.  Finn joined right in.

Before bed Sam sat with Nana and Papa and Finn sat on the porch and had a long conversation.  About what I'm not sure.  All we know is that we looked out the window they were sitting in chairs deep in conversation.  It was picturesque.
