Reading to His Brother

Last night after dinner Finn decided to read to Sam.  He decided upon "How Do Dinosaurs Clean Their Rooms?"  Finn has memorized every word and quoted the entire book to Sam - interestingly he knee exactly where to turn the page.  Finn was so precious reading to Sam. 

 Both boys were very restless so I decided to have a little fun with Finn by taking him to the pool.  At 7:30 Finn and I were wading our feet in the water.  It took Finn about fifteen (15) minutes but he finally got up enough courage to wander ten (10) feet from me - sheesh. . . 

Once they turned the running water off to the slide and play area Finn decided that it was safe to play on it.  He was so cute going down that slide - mostly because he felt so accomplished.

It was nice spending one on one time with Finn.  We had a few good laughs, we played Godzilla and Finn told me how much he loves swimming.  When we got home Finn snuggled up next to me and we watched Tangled.  It was a nice night.

After work today I met mom at 109 to drop off the boys for a sleepover.  On the way over Finn asked me if I brought extra clothes for him.  I said yes.  He said, "that's good because I am probably going to throw up."  I asked him why and he said, "because I drank Coke."  I asked him who told  him that and he responded, "Daddy."  I think I am living with a hypocrite.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
