Buying Fireworks

Tuesday was a late work day for the Begley family.  When we were all finally home we decided to go buy fireworks.  We went down to Millersville to Brandon and Carris's family's fireworks store.  It turned out to be a very good decision.  Finn immediately went to play with Addison in the store.  Finn was overwhelmed by the fireworks.  He wanted everything; especially the "monster truck" firework.  Addison did his best to explain what everything did - he was so helpful. 
After a few trips around the store Addison and Finn went outside to play.  Addison grabbed a few of the kiddie fireworks and he and Finn went wild!

It is great having friends that own a firework's store because Finn and Addison tried out all of the merchandise.

While running around searching for used firework containers to put in his mouth, Sam fell and got a pretty impressive scratch.  When Finn saw it he looked almost like he was going to get sick. 
Here is a close up.  When we got home I put some peroxide on Sam' knee.  He didn't like it. 
Later on in the evening Sam, uncharacterisically woke up screaming in the night.  I was still up working so I grabbed him and we rocked for a few minutes downstairs.  I rarely get to rock Sam so I was kind of happy that Sam woke up.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
