Sam's Fourth Birthday Party

On Friday night, in celebration of his Fourth Birthday, Sam had a sleepover with Cooper and Hank.  The boys arrived at our house around 4:00.  They started the evening by playing outside, but moved upstairs once it got dark.  By the time I got home from work Nana had arrived.  Nana came up to help me with the boys. 

The evening went pretty well.  We ordered pizza, watched Scooby Doo Wrestling and blew up the air mattress.  The sleeping arrangement were akin to musical chairs.  Sam, Hank and Cooper started out on the air mattress. 


Finn, feeling a bit left out, opted for the corner. 




By the time the night was over, Finn was in my room, Cooper was on the top bunk, Hank was on the air mattress and Sam was on the couch. 

The next morning we took all the boys to Finn's basketball game.  He made a goal!




Then we went to Chuck-E-Cheese for Sam's party. 















He seemed to have a really good time. 

After the party Jack and John Matthew came back to the house to play for a few hours.  Grandad and Gigi also came back with us to fix my toilet.  He did a great job!

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
