Busy Weekend

Thursday was the start of Finn Mega-Weekend. We started the big event off by journeying to Nana and Papa's house. Upon our arrival Finn was greeted by a Mickey Mouse plate and a Curious George Puzzle. Next came Finn's favorite part of the night . . . dinner. He had mashed potatoes all over everything. Then he ate ice cream! It was his first experience with Moose Tracks and by his expression really liked it.

Since Finn was having so much fun with Nana and Papa he decided that he didn't want to go to bed until 10:30. I let him sleep in the bed with me since he was screaming in the crib. Unfortunately Finn didn't sleep very well. He woke up almost ever hour on the hour. Then at 3:00 he woke up screaming "mama" over and over. No matter what I did I couldn't console him - the storm really scared him. Then he started asking to eat so we went downstairs and found a Pop-Tart. Insert big YUM. After finishing his Pop-Tart Finn went back to sleep and didn't wake up again until 6:00.

The next morning Finn and I went to visit Grandad. After hanging at Grandad's house for a while and draining the house of Teddy Grahams and Snackwells we all went to visit Gigi at school. While there Finn played with his new jungle animals puzzle and we ate pizza. After finishing up I dropped Finn off at Nana's school. Michael and I were hosting nine (9) sixth grade boys for the weekend for an event though our church. Mom and Greg graciously kept Finn while Michael and I were knee deep in 12 year olds.

I heard through the grapevine that Finn had a great weekend. On Friday night he fell asleep with a piece of pizza in his mouth. On Saturday we went to visit Papa Bruce and Granny Martha. By the looks of it he had a ball.

Thanks Aunt Laura for taking these pictures. On Sunday Finn attended Sunday School with Nana and Papa and fell asleep during the lesson.

Later that day, after all the boys were long gone Nana brought Finn back to our house. I know that he had a great weekend because he was sound asleep cuddled up in my lap by 4:00.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
