Happy Birthday Aunt Em

Today Finn and I woke up at 6:00 and went straight to Kroger. Finn had a lot of extra energy after breakfast so I thought it best that we go out on the town. Our first stop was the post office. We were the only ones in the building so I let Finn have his run of the place. He ended up ransacking the place. He found the envelope stash and went to town while I was opening my mail.

Then we went to Kroger to buy cream cheese for a my oreo cheesecake. Several of the cashiers have recognized how often I go to Krogers; they really should give me my own parking spot.

When we got home Finn took a nap. After he woke up we got ready to meet Grandad, Gigi, Em, Zac and Cooper at Old Chicago for birthday pizza. It was delicious! I swiped all the pictures off of Em's blog. This is what I spent a good part of my dinner doing - holding this sweet baby. He gave me lots of hugs. I also accidentally let him spill my drink - btw, it was totally my fault.




Finn spent most of his day sitting with Grandad and eating baked macaroni. Finn looks seriously goofy in this picture. On our way home Finn and I talked to Deanna for about an hour.

Once at home we played around until bedtime.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
