Birds

This morning (Wednesday) Grandad and Gigi came to visit. Grandad did some work around Hendersonville and Gigi spent the day with Finn while I was at work.

To start off the day they watched Veggie Tales and then Finn decided that he would mow.



This child is easily one of the smily-est boys I know.





Then Lauren came and they all went to the pool. In this picture Finn has just discovered Lauren's tatoo.

He was pretty fascinated by the birds.

He spent the bulk of his time jumping off the side of the pool to Gigi.
Apparently Grandad attempted to dunk Finn at one point and he decided that he would rather hang out with Gigi at the pool.

After work we all went to Logan's to eat dinner. Finn was much better this time than the last we ate together. He sat in his chair the whole time. He was pretty pooped when we got home and sat in my lap and watched Thomas.

The bird on Lauren's foot must have left a lasting impression because at breakfast this morning he pointed to my foot and said "bird?" as though he was looking for mine.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
