Beautiful

Today Michael and Finn got haircuts.  Finn was wonderful.  He even got to wear the big boy apron.  I don't know if I have ever seen him so well behaved.  Sam was still a bit sick so I was worried the entire time that he would freakout.

On the way to get Finn's hair cut we passed a "Dave and Buster's" type of place.  The building is neon Orange and had a ton of loud colors on it.  Finn took one look at the building and with all the awe he could muster said "that's beautiful."  It sounded like he was looking at one of the world's wonders.  I was so tickled, first because his voice was so serious and second, because that building may be the tackiest building in town.

After the haircuts we went to Firehouse for lunch.  Then we headed to Old Tyme Pottery to get some cushions for the patio furniture.  Sam cried most of the way there, but did much better once we got into the store.  I wonder if he was just too hot in the car.

When we got home Finn took a two hour nap while Sam fussed on and off.  I was able to get him to go to sleep by snuggling with him. 

After supper Finn and Michael weedeated the yard while Sam and I rocked in the swing.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
