5 and 3 Year Well-checks.

On Friday we had our three year and five year well-checks.  They went great.  The boys were a ball of nerves and energy.  I told both of them that they would be getting shots a couple days before the appointment.  Sam told me that he didn't want to go to the doctor because the doctor hurt.

As for measurements, Finn is the 91% for height and and 86% for weight.  He weighs 49 pounds and is 46 inches tall.  Finn's hearing and eyes were also tested - both excellent. 

Sam is in the 94% for weight and the 76% for height.  He is weighs 38 pounds and is 38 inches tall. 


While waiting for Dr. Steve, we took a few pictures.  Finn is becoming an old pro at "picture taking." When Michael got the camera out Finn immediately put his arms around both me and Sam.


After school we took the boys to Opry Mills to the Lego store to exchange Sam's Legos.  It was awesome!





They even had a place for the boys to build.


On Saturday I met Emily at the Farmer's Market in Davidson County to do a practice run for the Hot Chocolate 15K.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but I was still pretty beat.


That evening Sam and I went to drop some documents off at a client's house and then we went to exchange my watch for something a bit less flashy.  Finn went with Michael and Tommy and Deniece to Michael's office to hang pictures. 

On Sunday before bed we tried to explain "Martin Luther King Day" to Finn.  It didn't go all that well.  It started with Michael telling Finn that it happened a long time ago when Gran and Pa were younger and ended with Finn asking if Pa was in the "Israelite Army."  Some how or another he associated the phrase "a long time ago" with "biblical time" and  "fighting for rights" (or something along those lines) with "army" and put two and two together. Bless him.

    I am laughing outloud!!!!! You can tell they go to a Christian school. Israelite Army!! How funny!

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
