Christmas Day 2015

On Christmas day the boys woke up at 7:00 and came to get us in our room.  Gran and Pa arrived a few minutes later and we let the boys open their presents.  They opted to open them on the air mattress a.k.a the wrestling ring.  





First they opened their presents from each other.  Later in the day they both told me that the gift that they received from each other was their favorite. Then they opened their gifts from me and Michael. 

Michael got me a foam roller!  It hurts more than I thought it would. I got Michael a Buff Dude’s T-shirt and a replacement hoodie

Next we went to Gran and Pa’s house for brunch and presents.  I have never seen the boys so keyed up.  They had a great time opening gifts.  Finn’s favorite gift was this “Zuma” toy and Sam’s favorite was his superhero box set.

After leaving Gran and Pa’s house we went home and Finn, Sam and I all took naps.  I felt pretty crummy all morning and the nap made all the difference.

Next we went over to David and Sharon’s house for Begley’s extended family Christmas.  We played dirty Santa and I won a “My Pillow.”  I almost bought one of those off of TV so I was really excited to get the pillow! Mimi gave Finn and Sam Bobble head Star Wars figures.  They really like bobble heads.


We left David and Sharon’s around 8:30 and made the trip to Tullahoma to spend the night with Grandad and Gigi.  The boys are playing in the backseat and having a great time!

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
