The Tallest Tower

On Sunday night I got some great news; my case on Monday morning was continued.  This meant that I got to stay home with Sam and Finn all day Monday.  It has been a busy summer for me and I haven't had nearly as many home days as I normally have.

After breakfast Finn pulled his blocks out.  He told me that he wanted to build the "tallest tower" like the one from Tangled.   The picture above was of his first, and tallest, tower.  He built several more after this one toppled.   Sam spent most of the morning playing with his toys.  Later in the day I took both of the boys to the courthouse to pick up a file. A "stay at home" lawyer's job is never done. Poor little Sam catches so much grief at the courthouse.  The clerks love him; but they especially love to make fun of his hair.  Finn  discovered the water fountain and drenched himself.

    I think that is undoubtedly the tallest tower I have ever seen! Good job Finn (and Mom).

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
