Weekend at Nana and Papa's

On Saturday morning the boys and I met Mom, Em and her boys at Mimi's Cafe.  After lunch, Emily went to get her haircut while mom and I took the boys to the playground.

Afterwards we went back to Nana and Papa's house to spend the night.  That evening we went to the new Mexican restaurant for dinner.








When we got back home Finn showed Nana and Papa all of his wrestling moves.  We played every entrance song and Sam dances to his little hearts content.  It was so funny.  Before bed, Nana read the boys a new book called "The Book With No Pictures." The boys laughed so hard during this book.  

The next morning we went to church together.  Sam went to the nursery and Finn sat, so to speak, in the service with me and mom. 

Next we went to Sparta to visit Granny and Papa.  We also got to visit much of the rest of the family at different points during the day.  Sam gave a repeat perform of his wrestling moves.  My aunts told me that this was like old times sitting around the den watch me performing/entertaining as a baby.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
