Finn's 6th Birthday Party

Saturday was Finn's 6th Birthday Party.  He has been looking forward to this party for about 360 days.  But he has been really talking about it for the past 3 weeks.  He wanted a wrestling party, so we borrowed a bouncy house from my aunt Tracey and uncle Jerry and Gran brought over WWE party decorations.  By the time the party started the place looked pretty good. 

I had a lot of help with the party.  Gran made egg casserole, Gigi made potato casserole and Nana made apple cinnamon muffins.  I made chocolate oatmeal cookes, ooey gooey cookies, ham and cheese finger sandwiches.  We also had ice cream and WWE cupcakes.  

The party got underway around 10:00 and ended around 12:30. During that time Finn and his friends played in the bouncy house, played air hockey and played with the toys upstairs.  It really appeared that everyone had a good time.

Finn got some awesome gifts and . . .

Finn got wrestling bedsheets/spread, wrestling figures, paw patrol pup and car, money to go shopping with, Scooby Doo wrestling movie (which is perfect for the boys), Jurassic Park blanket, wrestling shirt, an air hockey/game table and others.  Michael and I got Finn a PS4 and James and Chelsea brought over the wrestling game and gave him a gift card to get more games.

I love watching Finn during his parties.  Nothing makes Finn happier than having a birthday party.  I know that all kids love their own birthday parties, but Finn's face is SO happy the whole time.  He really enjoys having his friends over and having his friends have a good time at his party.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
