Well, I forgot that last Friday was Will's Spring Picture Day. He was wearing a gray onsie that said "My Mom is the Best" which was drenched in drool around the collar. It wasn't at all 'springy' or clean - so we improvised.
Michael decided to give the boys one more fun family day before school started back up this fall. We called our close friends, loaded up in a couple of vehicles and headed to the Harpeth. We decided to get two canoes. Me, Will and Sam rode in one canoe and Michael shared the other with Finn. I though that Sam would be my big helper - but it was actually Will. Will paddled the entire time while Sam sat and took in the scenery. We stopped midway down the river to hang out in the water for a while. Near the end of the trip, the boys asked to ride together. They had a ball, but they were terrible. They zigzagged back and forth around down the river, cutting off unsuspecting canoers, yelling the entire time. Thankfully, most people found them to be charming.
On Saturday JT came to spend the day with Finn while his entire family helped his sister Sarah move into her college dorm. The first thing we did when JT arrived was take a walk. I loaded both boys into the jogging stroller and we went for a long walk around the neighborhood. They seemed to have a great time together talking about rocks and butterflies.
Next we took the boys outside and let them swim for a while. JT is a natural waterbaby.

Finn on the other hand is a natural sunbather.
t After a long swim the boys had some lunch and then a long nap. JT slept downstairs on the loveseat with Michael while Finn and I took a nap in my bed.
They spent the rest of the day either watching Mickey Mouse, playing big trucks or chasing each other around.
Later on that evening, we met Chase, Lindsey, Brandon and Carissa at Olive Garden for a a nice relaxing dinner. Finn was quiet, cooperative and sweet the entire time. At some points in the night I almost for...
Yesterday we took the boys to Ghouls at Grassmere. Day started out pretty traumatic for Sam. He wanted to go out and play. He started to notice that there were several little worms on the porch. He was terrified that the worms were going to get him so he sat in the porch swing with me for almost an hour. Finn spent his time finding worms and then stepping on them. Michael doesn't like for Finn to kill worms because they aren't hurting anything. I reminded Finn of this fact and told him not to kill any more worms. After a few minutes I start to hear more crunching. I decide to take a different approach. I told Finn, "Finn - the momma worm is going to be so sad because you killed the baby." He looks at me and said, "don't worry mom - I'm gonna kill the momma too." So much for the guilt trip. After a nap, it was time to start getting ready for the Zoo. We started with the tights. I bought Finn little girl...
