Bored to tears

Today Mom and I painted my bedroom. Its blue! I love it! I love to paint, but I have never painted with a baby in the house. In order to keep him away from the paint fumes I put him in his bedroom and closed the door. He slept pretty soundly for about two hours. After he woke up I took him down stairs and put him in his swing were he slept two more hours. I was impressed that he gave us so much time to paint. However, when he woke up he was ready for some attention. He was really bored with sitting around by himself. Luckily Michael got home shortly thereafter and he was able to hang out with Finn.

After we painted, Mom cleaned my entire room. I had so much fun painting with Mom and I was pretty sad when she left. By the way, my room looks great! Thanks Mom!

Because I spent most of the day painting I didn't get to spend a great deal of time with Finn. After mom left I rocked my baby for a long time trying to make up for his super boring day.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
