Meeting the bosses

Today Finn visited both Mama and Daddy's office. First we went to visit our friends in the Assistant Commissioner's office. We love the Assistant Commissioner's office because they always have Tootsie Rolls! Next we went upstairs to my office where I attempted to get some things done. Of course, the minute I turned my computer on Finn started fussing. So instead of working I ended up feeding Finn in my office. After I fed Finn I introduced Finn to my favorite attorney/client - Assistant Commissioner Christy Allen.

After leaving my office Finn and I went over to TennCare for a Thanksgiving luncheon. The food was great. Finn slept in his stroller most of the time. However after we ate we got him up so that Michael's coworkers could meet him. He was happy and pleasant for about seven minutes then he started crying. It was loud in the room, he was sleepy and hungry - bad combination. We will go back another time when Finn is in a happier mood.

After TennCare we went to visit Michael's Great, Great Aunt Nellie. She seemed so happy to meet Finn. Then Finn and I went and bought some new sleepers. We keep our house really cold in the winter so I had to go get some warm clothes for him to sleep in. When we got home Finn ate for a long time while I watched "Bride Wars" (not great). While I was cooking dinner Finn sat in his swing and watched the tree. After dinner I accidentally fell asleep until 8:00. I hate when I sleep during the day - arrgghh.

Well that was the play-by-play for the day.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
