Morning Time

Mornings with Finn are so much fun. He is usually in a pretty good mood and he is happy to see me because he knows that I am about to feed him. But the best part about waking Finn up is that moment when I first unswaddle him. Every night before we put him to bed we swaddle him up so tightly that he can't move at all. When I finally let him out the first thing he does is stretch. I LOVE to watch him stretch - it is one of his cutest moments.

This particular morning I decided to take a few pictures of Finn under the Christmas tree. While I was taking his picture I noticed two little paws emerging from the branches. Without my knowing it Kodiak had climbed into the tree and was reaching down to grab Finn's hat.

Later that day Uncle James came over to visit Finn and watch the games. He also tried his hand at feeding Finn. Unfortunately I set him up for failure because I gave him a bottle of pedialyte. But despite the fact that Finn doesn't care for pedialyte James gave a valiant effort.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
